Stecoah
Valley North Carolina and the unspoiled mountains
and crystal clear streams and
lakes of Graham County
are a natural choice for people who enjoy a
quiet retreat. Stecoah water sports are especially popular on
two lakes: Santeetlah Lake and
Lake Fontana.
Several of the trout streams in the Stecoah Valley have a national reputation. Air or water pollution
or
crime and traffic jams are almost unheard of. And because the Nantahala National
Forest covers approximately sixty percent of
Graham County, the beauty and privacy
will be preserved. Graham County is a great place to reside
or visit for those who love the natural amenities
and cultural traditions that
this mountain area has always offered. |

Stecoah Valley
Cultural Arts Center
is a vital
contributor to the preservation of the
Appalachian mountain heritage of Western North
Carolina. Throughout the year we celebrate
mountain traditions through music programs,
old-time festivals, workshops and other events
for all age groups. The Center's
programs are also designed to help the local
community. We are home to the Stecoah Valley
Food Ventures and the Smoky Mountain Native
Plants Association; as well as the Junior
Appalachian Musicians program. Our Artisans
Gallery provides sales promotion and support for
local and regional artists. |
