Smoky Mountains National Park is
ridge

mountain culture. This is America's most visited

Clingman's
Dome
at
6,643 feet is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park's highest point. It
is the highest point in Tennessee, and the second highest point
east of the Mississippi. Only North Carolina's Mt. Mitchell (6,684 feet)
rises higher. Located along the state-line ridge, ithe peak is accessible
after driving Clingmans Dome Road from Newfound Gap, and then walking a
steep paved half-mile trail to a 54' observation tower. |

BLUERIDGE PARKWAY. At 469 miles
long the Parkway is the nation's longest scenic rural parkway. Now 70
years old it is administered by the National Park Service and hosts
about 20 million visits annually. Along the route
you'll find lodging, dining, camping, hiking and breathtaking
views from easily accessible overlooks and picnic areas.
