Most NC attractions offer mountain heritage or scenery as a part of their appeal and are the kind of old-fashioned fun we all long to find. No matter what part of the mountains or what time of the year there are always things to do in the all for all ages and interests. 
Some of the best hiking trails can be found in the North Carolina Parks. Along the North Carolina Blue Ridge Parkway there are over 70 marked trails from easy to strenuous with maps and details available online or from any Parkway visitor Center. The Parkway is an incredible drive made even more enjoyable with occasional stops to stretch your legs and fill your spirit with a hike in the pristine mountains.
If golf is your favorite thing to do, you'll be pleased with the abundance of both public and private golf courses located in all areas of Western North Carolina. Play on one of the beautiful public courses or stay at a scenic NC golf Resort and play daily for your entire stay. North Carolina is one of the five most popular destination states for golf travelers.
NC outdoor adventures provide year around things to do. From Whitewater rafting on the Nantahala with both class II and III rapids to recreational and competitive mountain biking to world class fly fishing in the pristine mountain waters, there are activities for all ages and abilities.
