Carolina Connection |

|
Tryon North
Carolina
is called "the friendliest town
in the South". The town of
Tryon, laid out in the shape of
a circle, was incorporated in
the late 1800s as the
Spartanburg and Asheville
Railroad came to the area. Many
of the Tryon's historic
buildings on Trade Street, as it
is today, were in place by 1900,
including a general store, a
pharmacy and a post office. Tryon
NC quickly grew as a resort
town, bringing tourists to the
area to enjoy the mountain views
and good climate.
The Tryon
NC equestrian community has a
calendar filled with events
including the spring running of
the Steeplechase, and nearly
year-round horse shows at the Foothills
Equestrian Nature Center (FENCE).
